Reeling from the overwhelming success and popularity of both Tao and Lavo, the creators of these Vegas dining and nightclub institutions set out to create the ultimate pure clubbing experience. The result is the Marquee Nightclub located inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The first thing about the Marquee is that it is three clubs in one. The club is an incredible 60,000 square feet that includes seven full service bars that simultaneously function as points of convergence for people and transition between the three rooms. Each room is uniquely designed with its own character and features different musical, aesthetic, and thematic experiences designed to dazzle all your senses.
A real genius of Marquee is before you get to any of the three rooms, there’s a bar at the entrance. Come in, have a drink, and then enter. Indeed, it’s a great place to meet friends for a drink before the actual party begins.
From the bar, the first room is called the Boombox. It is a small lounge-like space with an intimate setting, views of the world famous strip, and its own DJ, complete with killer sound system. The décor features dark tones, ambient lighting, and modern furnishings and fixtures, and is as stylish as it is comfortable. The music in the Boombox often features Hip Hop.
Then there is the Main Room, a room so spectacular, it almost has to be experienced to be believed. To begin with, there is an elevated DJ booth and a 40 foot LED screen towering over the room that induces the dancing and revelry with an almost religious-like devotion. Then, there’s intelligent lighting, two large dance floors, and a high tech sound system, so good you can feel the music in the pit of your soul, but not so loud that you cannot talk.
The Main Room is surrounded by leather booth seating that is so comfortable, while sexy go-go dancers gyrate to the sick beats on catwalks above the dance floors. The Main Room features mostly house and techno from their superstar DJs with monthly residencies.
The last room is the luxuriant Library Room which sits over-looking an incredible main floor. The Library features dark woods, including the bar, tables, and bookshelves, a fireplace, billiards table, and comfortable old-school leather armchairs. The bookshelves contain actual vintage books on subjects like the history of Las Vegas, to gambling, drinks, and showgirls.
The music in the Library is softer, usually funk and R & B, making it an ideal place to take a break from the action and to socialize. The Library specializes in a more refined and traditional approach to drinks by featuring modern takes on traditional cocktails. If the Main Room is all about reckless abandon, the Library is its classy, elegant, and sophisticated counterpart. It feels like you are partying in an aristocrat’s mansion.
Last, but certainly not least, there is the 30,000 square feet outdoor area that features a spectacular view of Vegas. You can enjoy the luxurious cabanas with individual infinity pools, or choose to indulge in the two large swimming pools, sun beds, and the outdoor gaming area.
The Marquee is what all nightclubs should be like. It’s like the creators of Marquee scoured the world to bring together the best of the world’s nightclubbing scene into one nightclub.
